Bukchon Hanok Village

Various sizes of Jangdokdae, earthen jars for storing traditional sauces and condiments are seen in the yard.
This place is commonly found directly near traditional houses, more precisely near the kitchen. Sunshine and ventilation are key aspects in the location choice so that foods can be preserved and kept fresh. Well-preserved ingredients may stay for several years in the jars.
Various sculptures that drive away evil spirits can be seen on the roof of Injeomun Gate in Changdeokgung Palace.
Korean-style houses are lined along an uphill road.
Tiled roofs of traditional houses side by side can be seen down the hill.
Red patterns were drawn on fence walls made of stones cut of the same size.
In a three way intersection you can see how fence walls have changed over the years. There is brick wall fence and a tiled wall fence.
